| FIRST MATCH OF NEW SEASON
16TH SEPTEMBER 2007 - MIDDLEFIELD WASPS VERSUS
SHEDDOCKSLEY, PLAYED AT SHEDDOCKSLEY PARK - KICK OFF
10-30am. |
The first match of the new season
kicks off in terrible overhead conditions.
THE WASPS take to the field looking the part in their
new strip kindly
donated by our sponsors DRESSER RAND.
The game kicks off and the WASPS take the game to
SHEDS. The WASPS are
playing some nice football with BEN GARRETT dictating
things in the middle
of the park. The Back three of DECLAN, RYAN and DOM
BURNS working well as a
unit and MATTHEW FRASER holding the ball up well on his
own up front with
some good support from LEWIS and REECE on the
flanks.
Against the run of play the WASPS fall behind to a well
taken goal by SHEDS.
The Wasps back three are caught out by a ball played up
field and the SHEDS
striker
latches onto it before firing an unstoppable shot past
HARRY SMITH to give
SHEDS the lead.
All credit to The WASPS they keep pressing SHEDS back
until the half-time
whistle but SHEDS hold on to their one goal
advantage.
Half- time SHEDS 1 THE WASPS 0
The second half kicks off and THE WASPS continue to
force the issue, the
SHEDS are defending well and also look dangerous when
breaking forward.
Eventually The WASPS are rewarded with a deserved
equaliser, the ball is
laid back to the path of DOM BURNS at the edge of the
SHEDS box
and he thunders the ball into the roof of the net to
make the score line 1 -
1.
The WASPS with their tails up are pushing forward for
the winning goal, but
credit to SHEDS as they continue to work hard and
attack at every
opportunity.
The game is now swinging from end to end and with only
a few minutes
remaining BEN GARRETT picks the ball up midway through
the SHEDS half, he
drives at the SHEDS defence before firing a fierce shot
across the face of
goal which is deflected into the net by a SHEDS
defender to give The WASPS a
2-1 lead .
The WASPS hold on for the last few minutes to start the
season in style.
Final-score: SHEDS - 1 THE WASPS -
2
A great start to the season, a tremendous performance
from the boys with
lots of nice football played despite the terrible
conditions.
GREAT WORK RATE AND
COMMITMENT SHOWN BY EVERY WASPS PLAYER.
Keep up the good
work. Well played!

| FIRST HOME MATCH OF NEW
SEASON 23rd SEPTEMBER 2007 - MIDDLEFIELD WASPS VERSUS
DONSIDE BULLS. |
|
Our first home
match of the season v DONSIDE BULLS kicks off in near
perfect
conditions.
THE WASPS are forced into making 2 changes with
BRANDON HUNTER and LEWIS
ROSS replacing MATTHEW FRASER and LEWIS
STEPHENS.
THE WASPS kick off and immediately take the game to
DONSIDE BULLS.Most of
the early play is coming down THE WASPS left hand
side with REECE MATTHEWS
causing the THE DONSIDE defence problems.DOM BURNS is
playing up front today and he is
also causing THE DONSIDE defence problems.
It is no surprise when the WASPS take the lead with a
well worked goal. BEN
GARRETT picks the ball up in the middle of the park
before releasing to REECE
MATTHEWS down the left wing, REECE beats his man
before firing a tempting
cross into the box which DOM BURNS beats the DONSIDE
keeper to and knocks
into the empty net to give THE WASPS the lead.
DONSIDE to their credit are trying to play some nice
football but their last
pass is letting them down.THE WASPS continue to try
and increase their lead
before halftime but THE DONSIDE defence hold out to
keep the score at 1 - 0
to THE WASPS.
HALF TIME THE WASPS 1 DONSIDE BULLS 0
The second half kicks off with JAKE DUNCAN replacing
BRANDON HUNTER. THE
WASPS are pushing forward early in the second half
and a few long range
efforts from LEWIS ROSS are well dealt with by the
DONSIDE keeper.Both teams
are working hard and playing some nice football. THE
WASPS then bring BLAIR
CONACHER on for LEWIS ROSS. THE WASPS defence are
being stretched by their
opponents but luckily for THE WASPS they managed to
hold out. BEN GARRETT
and DOM BURNS are now beginning to come back into the
game as THE WASPS go
looking to increase their lead. The best move of the
second half sees the
DONSIDE KEEPER pull off a great save to prevent JAKE
DUNCAN from scoring his
first goal for THE WASPS. The DONSIDE keeper dives
low to his right to
produce an excellent save from a well struck shot.THE
WASPS continue to push
forward but cannot add to to their lead due to some
good defending from a
well organised DONSIDE team. THE WASPS hold on to
record a narrow 1 - 0
victory against a spirited DONSIDE BULLS.
FULL TIME THE WASPS 1
DONSIDE BULLS O
GOALSCORER DOM BURNS.
After last weeks performance, THE WASPS produce a
disappointing performance
today but on the plus side still manage to win.
A disjointed performance with poor work rate,
commitment and lots of slack
passing.
On the plus side a well taken goal by DOM BURNS was
enough to give THE WASPS
another victory to remain undefeated.
GOOD RESULT but must work a lot
harder.

Today MIDDLEFIELD WASPS travel to Peterhead
for the first time to play PETERHEAD

The game kicks off in cold but dry
conditions.PETERHEAD get the game started
and THE WASPS are quick into to gear .THE WASPS are
dominating play from the
off with BEN GARRETT controlling things in the middle
of the park REECE
MATTHEWS, LEWIS STEPHENS and MATTHEW FRASER are
causing the PETERHEAD
defence all sorts of problems with their attacking
play, but credit to
PETERHEAD who are fighting for everything and working
really hard. THE WASPS
then push DOM BURNS upfront to support MATTHEW FRASER
and immediately the
move pays off with the first goal of the game.
BEN GARRETT wins the ball in the middle of the park
before passing to DOM
BURNS, DOM then releases MATTHEW FRASER through on
goals and MATTHEW is
denied by a good save from the PETERHEAD keeper who
can only parry the ball
into the path of the onrushing DOM BURNS to knock the
ball into the
PETERHEAD net to give THE WASPS a deserved lead.THE
WASPS continue to
dominate and MATTHEW FRASER, BEN GARRETT and DOM
BURNS being denied by some
great goalkeeping by the PETERHEAD keeper. Not to be
out done THE WASPS add
to their lead with an outstanding individual goal by
DOM BURNS. DOM picks
the ball up half way in the PETERHEAD half, he beats
the PETERHEAD defender
before smashing a shot into the roof of the net from
about 20 yards to give
THE WASPS a 2 -0 lead.THE WASPS keep pressing but
PETERHEAD manage to hold
out until the end of the half.

THE WASPS start the second half and continue to take
the game to their
hosts.BEN GARRETT is winning everything in the middle
of the park and
playing some nice passes to start THE WASPS
attacks.The back 3 of DECLAN,
RYAN and DOM BURNS who has now returned to his
defensive duties are looking
solid and playing some nice passes out from the back
to the flanks where
REECE MATTHEWS and LEWIS ROSS are pushing forward.
THE WASPS are unlucky not
to add to their lead on several occassions but a
combination of good
goalkeeping and poor finishing keeps the scoreline at
2-0.THE WASPS
eventually add to their lead with a well taken goal
from BEN GARRETT. REECE
MATTHEWS passes the ball inside to BEN GARRETT, BEN
skips past his man
before drilling a low shot from the edge of the box

denied when the PETERHEAD keeper makes a tremendous
save from a BEN GARRETT
piledriver.Credit to PETERHEAD who are now putting
THE WASPS backline under
pressure they are eventually rewarded for their
hardwork and effort with a
well taken goal after a scramble in THE WASPS penalty
box to make the final
score line PETERHEAD COLTS 1 THE WASPS 3.

THE WASPS V WESTDYKE at
Aultons 7th October 2007.
Todays game kicks off today in near perfect
conditions.
THE WASPS kick off and try to take the game to
WESTDYKE. THE WASPS and
WESTDYKE are both working hard in the early
exchanges,
but both seem to be cancelling one another out. The
game is being played at
a frantic pace with passing from both teams being
misplaced with very little
goal mouth action at either end.
THE WASPS are rewarded towards the end of the
half with a well taken goal
from MATTHEW FRASER, the ball breaks to MATTHEW in the
WESTDYKE
box and he drives home a powerful shot inside the
keepers near post to give
THE WASPS the lead.
END OF FIRST PERIOD; THE WASPS 1 WESTDYKE
O
The second period kicks off and THE WASPS are now
pushing forward to
increase their lead. BEN GARRETT is now beginning to
control the match with
some nice passing and strong challenges to win back the
ball for THE WASPS.
THE WASPS increase their lead with a great piece of
skill from DOM BURNS,
DOM
picks up a clearance from a WESTDYKE corner just inside
his own half before
racing the length of the pitch, rounding the WESTDYKE
keeper and rolling the
ball into the empty net to give THE WASPS a 2 - 0 lead.
A great individual
goal from DOM, his 5th goal in 4 games. All
credit to WESTDYKE as they
continue to try and force themselves back into the game
despite the
scoreline.
END OF SECOND PERIOD THE WASPS 2 WESTDYKE 0
The third period kicks off and the WASPS are now
being put under a bit of
pressure.WESTDYKE are pushing THE WASPS back but some
good defending and
a good save by HARRY SMITH prevents WESTDYKE getting
back into the match. As
the half continues THE WASPS begin to get on top and it
is no surprise when
they increase their lead. BEN GARRETT wins the ball in
midfield and drives at
the WESTDYKE defence before unleashing a 25 yard shot
into the WESTDYKE net
to give THE WASPS a 3 - 0 lead. THE WASPS continue to
push forward until the
final whistle but are unable to add to their
tally.
END OF THIRD PERIOD THE WASPS 3 WESTDYKE
0
GOALSCORERS : MATTHEW FRASER, DOM BURNS, BEN
GARRETT
A patchy performance from THE WASPS against a spirited
and well organised
WESTDYKE team.
THE WASPS were made to work hard by their
opponents today to record a 4th
straight win.
3 well taken goals from MATTHEW, DOM, BEN. The defence
continue to look
quite solid.
Work rate is beginning to improve week by week.
WELL PLAYED LADS.

| 14 Oct 2007. Middlefield
Wasps versus Albion played at Harlaw. kick off
10-30am. |
|
14th October
2007
Today THE MIDDLEFIELD WASPS under 11's travel to
HARLAW to play ALBION
The game kicks off in near perfect conditions, THE
WASPS are forced into a
change with BRANDON HUNTER coming in for his first
start of the season.
THE WASPS start the game brightly with BEN GARRETT
controlling proceedings,
the back 3 of DOM, BRANDON and DECLAN looking quite
comfortable
and the 3 front men of REECE, MATTHEW and LEWIS
STEPHENS pushing forward at
every opportunity.
Both teams are working hard and playing some nice
football in this closely
fought match.THE WASPS are unlucky not to take the
lead when they are
awarded a free kick at the edge of THE ALBION box.BEN
GARRETT strikes for
goal but unluckily for THE WASPS the ball flies just
wide of THE ALBION
goal.
THE WASPS continue to take the game to ALBION, they
are defending very well
and also look very dangerous on the break. The first
period comes to an end
with neither team able to break the deadlock.
END OF FIRST PERIOD ALBION 0 THE WASPS 0
The second period kicks off and THE WASPS for the
first time in the match
are being forced back by a strong ALBION team.ALBION
take the lead when they
are awarded a corner kick, a well taken corner is met
with a powerful header
from the ALBION attacker which rebounds off THE WASPS
crossbar, unluckily
for THE WASPS the rebound is knocked into his own net
by LEWIS STEPHENS to
give ALBION the lead.THE WASPS defence is now
defending for thier lives and
their good defending is rewarded with an
equaliser.THE ALBION keeper punches
away a cross only to the edge of his area, the ball
is picked up by BEN
GARRETT and he coolly lobs the ball over the ALBION
keeper and defenders
into the empty net to make the scoreline 1 - 1. As
the half comes to a close
ALBION regain the lead with a well executed goal to
give ALBION a 2-1 lead
in this very entertaining game.
END OF SECOND PERIOD ALBION 2 THE WASPS 1
The 3rd period kicks off and THE WASPS introduce
LEWIS ROSS for the
hardworking MATTHEW FRASER.The game is now going from
end to end with both
goalkeepers having to be alert to keep the score
intact.ALBION are unlucky
not to add to their lead but luckily for THE WASPS
the ball rebounds off the
crossbar and is cleared away. All credit to THE WASPS
they force their way
back into the game with a well worked goal. LEWIS
ROSS wins the ball in
midfield before releasing REECE MATTHEW, REECE
crosses the ball to the far
post and LEWIS STEPHENS is there to drill a powerful
low shot across the
keeper into the bottom corner for a deserved
equaliser.THE WASPS with their
tails up keep pushing forward and are unlucky on a
couple of occassions not
to take the lead.Credit to ALBION they keep going and
regain the lead when
the ball breaks at the edge of THE WASPS box , it is
met by an ALBION player
and he drives a low shot into THE WASPS net to give
ALBION the lead for the
3rd time in this pulsating game.THE WASPS keep
pushing forward for an
equaliser but are caught out when ALBION break
forward to score a fourth to
make the score 4-2. THE WASPS are not finished yet
and show tremendous
character to get back into the game. From a well
taken corner by REECE
MATTHEW the ALBION defence fail to clear and LEWIS
ROSS is there to knock
the ball into the net to give THE WASPS hope in the
final minutes. THE WASPS
push forward for an equaliser but yet again are
caught out when ALBION break
forward at pace to score a fifth goal and end any
hopes of THE WASPS
getting a result.
FINAL SCORE ALBION 5 THE WASPS 3
GOALSCORERS BEN GARRETT, LEWIS STEPHEN, LEWIS
ROSS.
A very good game played in terrific spirit between
these 2 well organised
teams.
Both teams showed a tremendous desire to get the
result. WELL PLAYED ALBION.
All credit to THE WASPS for another great
performance despite the result.
The commitment and football played was a joy to
watch.
A very good team performance with some excellent
individual performances.On
another day the result could have been
different.
WELL PLAYED
and keep up the hard work.

balanced and fair report from Paul

SUNDAY 21ST
OCOTOBER 2007 AT WOODSIDE
ABERDEEN MIDDLEFIELD WASPS UNDER 11'S VERSUS GLENTANAR
B.C.
THE WASPS travel to Woodside to face GLENTANAR
The game kicks off and THE WASPS start brightly.
THE WASPS force GLENTANAR
back but only some good goalkeeping and poor finishing from
THE WASPS prevent them opening the scoring.
THE WASPS continue to force the issue but credit to
GLENTANAR
who are working hard to keep THE WASPS out. The first period
ends goalless.
END OF FIRST PERIOD GLENTANAR 0 THE WASPS 0
The second period begins in the same manner as the first with
THE WASPS unlucky
not to take the lead on several occasions. LEWIS ROSS is
unlucky
when he fires a 20 yard strike just over the bar, then he is
put through on
goal only to be denied by a tremendous block from the
GLENTANAR keeper.
THE WASPS look dangerous every time they win corner kicks,
BEN GARRETT being
denied several times. Against the run of play GLENTANAR take
the lead
when HARRY SMITH can only parry a well struck free kick into
his own net to
give GLENTANAR a 1-0 lead. All credit to THE WASPS, BEN
GARRETT,
REECE MATTHEW and LEWIS PATON all have decent efforts on goal
as they
continue to push forward. THE WASPS are rewarded when LEWIS
PATON is fouled
at the edge of the GLENTANAR area. BEN GARRETT strikes
an unstoppable shot
into the top corner for a deserved equaliser. THE WASPS with
their tails up
go looking for a second goal but credit to GLENTANAR
for keeping THE WASPS
at bay until the end of the second period.
END OF SECOND PERIOD GLENTANAR 1 THE WASPS 1
The final period kicks off with THE WASPS determined to push
forward and
score the winning goal. BEN GARRETT is having a terrific game
and is at the
middle of everything good in THE WASPS play. THE WASPS
take the lead when
LEWIS PATON is in the right place at the right time to knock
home a rebound
from the GLENTANAR keeper to give THE WASPS a deserved lead.
BEN GARRETT
then hits a pile driver from all of 25 yards only to be
denied by the
GLENTANAR keeper. JAKE DUNCAN is then denied his first goal
for THE WASPS by
another good save from the excellent GLENTANAR
goalkeeper.
With 5 minutes remaining THE WASPS defence is caught out by
GLENTANAR,
GLENTANAR equalise with a well taken goal from a well worked
counter attack
.THE GLENTANAR striker coolly placing the ball past the
advancing HARRY
SMITH to make the score 2 - 2.In the final minutes BEN
GARRETT is denied a
penalty kick when he is sent crashing in the GLENTANAR box
for what looked
like a clear cut penalty. In the last seconds of the game
GLENTANAR
strike the post to the relief of THE WASPS .
FINAL SCORE GLENTANAR 2 THE WASPS 2
GOALSCORERS BEN GARRETT LEWIS PATON
After last weeks performance a very disappointing performance
from THE
WASPS.
Must put the ball in the back of the net and kill teams off
when making as
much chances as we had.
Defensively we didn't look as solid as recent weeks. Must
learn to stay
focussed.
On the plus side A TERRIFIC performance from
BEN GARRETT full of energy and

Very good corner kicks and free kicks, well worked but must
react to the
ball when breaking in the box.
Must work harder to keep making progress.

SUNDAY 4th NOVEMBER
ABERDEEN V THE WASPS
at KAIMHILL
MIDDLEFIELD WASPS under 11's travel to Kaimhill today to
play ABERDEEN for the first time.
The game kicks off in perfect conditions.MATTHEW FRASER and
DOM BURNS return to
THE WASPS starting line up. THE WASPS are
being forced back in the early stages of the match
by ABERDEEN. ABERDEEN's movement and good
use of the ball is making THE WASPS work
very hard, but credit to THE WASPS for
keeping their shape and closing down ABERDEEN.
THE WASPS are beginning to find their
passing range with BEN GARRETT, LEWIS STEPHEN and
REECE MATTHEW beginning to impose themselves on the game.
BEN GARRETT is unlucky on
a few occassions as he begins to play
more in ABERDEEN'S half being well supported by
MATTHEW FRASER. ABERDEEN continue to push
the ball around at every opportunity but
are finding THE WASPS a tough nut to
crack. ABERDEEN take the lead at the end of the first
period
with a well worked set piece.A well taken
corner is met by an ABERDEEN forward who bullets a
header
into the top corner to give ABERDEEN the
lead. The half ends with both teams continuing to play
good
football.
END OF FIRST PERIOD ABERDEEN 1 THE WASPS 0
The second period begins and THE WASPS take the game to
ABERDEEN. THE WASPS defence
is looking strong with RYAN, DOM and
DECLAN keeping the ABERDEEN forwards at bay.
HARRY SMITH in THE WASPS goal is looking
the part and it seems to be giving THE WASPS
the belief that they can take something
from the game. The hardworking MATTHEW FRASER
is replaced by LEWIS ROSS and LEWIS is
immediately involved when he is put clean through
on goal by BEN GARRETT. BEN wins the ball in the middle of
the park and slides a great ball through
the ABERDEEN defence for the onrushing
LEWIS ROSS who knocks the ball into the net to make the
score 1 - 1.THE WASPS with their tails up
continue to push forward but are denied by some good
defending by ABERDEEN.
END OF SECOND PERIOD ABERDEEN 1 THE WASPS 1
The final period continues with both teams still trying to
play nice football, keeping the ball on the deck
whenever possible. The game is being
played in a terrific spirit with the action end to end.
HARRY SMITH
is forced to make a couple of decent saves to keep the
scoreline at 1- 1. THE WASPS continue to
push forward looking for the winning goal
but cannot seem to hit the target when required. With only
a few
minutes remaining
ABERDEEN win the game with a great individual goal. THE
ABERDEEN striker collects the ball 25 yards
out from THE WASPS goal and unleashes a
tremendous strike beyond the reach of HARRY SMITH
into the top corner of the net to give
ABERDEEN a 2 - 1 victory.
FINAL SCORE ABERDEEN 2 THE WASPS 1
A very entertaining game played in terrific spirit. Both
teams deserve
lots of credit for the way they went about their
business.
Credit to THE WASPS for another excellent performance.Every
single player
giving everything they had. THE WASPS had a very good shape
about them
today
and were very unlucky not to take anything
from the game.
Well played kids. Keep up the good
work!!!

kicks off with a
strong wind blowing and the pitch quite heavy in places.
THE WASPS start
brightly and force COVE to defend straight from kick off.
THE WASPS are
playing some nice football and are rewarded for their good
start with an
early goal. BEN GARRETT feeds the ball through THE COVE
defence , the COVE
keeper comes out to challange DOM BURNS but luckily for THE
WASPS the ball
is missed by both and rolls into the empty net to give THE
WASPS the
lead.THE WASPS are now well on top and it is no surprise
when they increase
their lead.
A good move involving BEN GARRETT and DOM BURNS is finished
in style by
REECE MATTHEW who smashes the ball into the roof of the net
to make it 2-0
to THE WASPS. THE WASPS continue to push forward and are
unlucky not to add
to their lead on a few occassions, LEWIS STEPHENS firing
over the bar from
close range after a good move and BEN GARRETT being denied
by THE COVE
"crossbar".
THE WASPS add a third after a goal mouth scramble with BEN
GARRETT getting
the final touch for his second goal of the game.THE WASPS
score a fourth
with a well worked goal. BEN GARRETT takes a throw in and
throws it to DOM
BURNS , DOM turns and volleys the ball into THE COVE net
for a great
individual goal. The half ends with THE WASPS looking to
add to their tally.
HALF TIME THE WASPS 4 COVE BOYS CLUB 0
The second half kicks off and THE WASPS keep pushing
forward only to be
denied on several occassions by THE COVE keeper who is
having a great game.
Against the run of play COVE break forward and pull a goal

are now being made to defend by the spirited COVE side.
Credit to THE WASPS
they keep playing football and are rewarded when DOM BURNS
scores his
second goal of the game to make the scoreline 5-1 to THE
WASPS.
COVE get themselves back into the game with 2 well worked
goals. THE WASPS
score a sixth goal when MATTHEW FRASER is first to react to

victory.

A very good performance by THE WASPS considering they had

Lots of nice football played at times rounded
off with some very good
goals.Nice to see the boys have the confidence to pass the
ball around.
A very good performance despite all the changes made by

missing at times was our finishing in front of goal. Must
learn to kill
teams off.
WELL DONE, KEEP UP THE HARDWORK.

MIDDLEFIELD WASPS UNDER
11'sV WESTDYKE AT AULTONS.
THE WASPS entertain WESTDYKE as the second half of the season kicks off in
perfect playing conditions. The first period starts with both teams
determined to get off to a good start. WESTDYKE are taking the game to
THE WASPS and it is no surprise when they take the lead with a good
attack and finish from their striker to give them a 1-0 lead after
10mins. THE WASPS are finding it very difficult to get into their
strideand it is no surprise when WESTDYKE extend their lead with a
another good goal to give them a 2-0 advantage. WESTDYKE are playing
some lovely footballand look capable of adding to their lead. WESTDYKE
continue to push forward but only some good goalkeeping by HARRY SMITH
keeps THE WASPS in the game. As the half nears to its conclusion a mix
up in THE WASPS defence allows WESTDYKE to fire the ball into the net to
complete the first half scoring and give WESTDYKE a deserved 3 - 0 lead.
END OF FIRST PERIOD THE WASPS 0 WESTDYKE 3
THE WASPS ring the changes with LEWIS PATON, BRADLEY STRACHEN and LEWIS
ROSS being introduced.BEN GARRETT has dropped back into defence and THE
WASPS are now slowly coming back into the game. THE WASPS pull a goal
back when a long kick out by HARRY SMITH is flicked on by DOM BURNS
through to LEWIS PATON who keeps a cool head to place the ball past the
advancing keeper and into the WESTDYKE net to give THE WASPS hope. THE
WASPS are now beginning to believe they can get back into the game and
are rewarded with a well worked goal. BEN GARRETT passes the ball down
the line to DOM BURNS who beats his man before firing a cross into the
WESTDYKE area, LEWIS PATON is there to flick the ball into the WESTDYKE
net to make the scoreline THE WASPS 2 WESTDYKE 3. THE WASPS go looking
for an equaliser but to no avail. In the final minutes of the halfonly
good goalkeeping by HARRY SMITH keeps THE WASPS in it as WESTDYKE push
forward to increase their lead. END OF SECOND PERIOD THE WASPS 2
WESTDYKE 3 The final period kicks off with THE WASPS determined to get
an equaliser. THE WASPS are pushing forward and are denied on several
occassions.THE WASPS are looking dangerous from corner kicks. LEWIS ROSS
is delivering some nice corners and from one of these corners DOM BURNS
knocks the ball over from under the crossbar. With 8 minutes remaining
THE WASPS pull themselves level with a wonderful finish from DOM BURNS.
MATTHEW FRASER knocks the ball into DOM BURNS path and he slams the ball
low and hard past THE WESTDYKE keeper to give THE WASPS a hard earned 3
- 3 draw.
FINAL SCORE THE WASPS 3 WESTDYKE 3
GOALSCORERS LEWIS PATON(2) DOM BURNS. After Friday nights highs a very
disappointing performance from THE WASPS especially in the first
period. In the first period THE WASPS were not at the races, disappointed
by the workrate and commitment shown by everyone except HARRY SMITH and
DOM BURNS.Credit to THE WASPS though for forcing themselves back into
the game in the second and third periods.3 very well taken goals by the
LEWIS PATON and DOM BURNS. Good to see the strikers linking together.
Some very good corner kicks taken by LEWIS ROSS. A very good second half
performance by BEN GARRETT who looked very assured at the back and
tighten things up to get THE WASPS back into the game. Also another
assured performance from HARRY SMITH in THE WASPS goal.Must stop giving
teams a goal of start and learn to keep our shape even when things are
going against us.
Well Balanced report yet again
by Paul Paton. Comment by Aberdeen Website Design; great to see
the team are still solid. |

few changes with LEWIS ROSS replacing goalkeeper HARRY SMITH and
BRADLEY STRACHAN replacing DECLAN MCGUNNIGLE. THE WASPS kick off and
take
the game to their opponents. Both teams are working hard and trying to
play
nice football in the early stages but both defences are keeping the
strikers at bay. Mid way through the first half Donside take the lead
with
a well worked goal. THE WASPS respond with a well taken goal, MATTHEW
FRASER beats the DONSIDE keeper to the ball and calmly strokes it in to
the empty net to give THE WASPS an equaliser they deserve. THE WASPS
push
forward until the end of the period but are kept out by a well organised
DONSIDE defence.

DONSIDE
players behind before passing to LEWIS STEPHEN who thunders home from
the
edge of the DONSIDE area to make the scoreline 2 - 1 to THE WASPS.

allows THE DONSIDE striker to run through unchallenged and knock the
ball
into THE WASPS net to make the score 2 each. THE WASPS continue to push
forward and are rewarded when a long ball is played over THE DONSIDE
defence and DOM BURNS reacts first to knock the ball past the DONSIDE
keeper and into the net to put THE WASPS 3 - 2 in front.THE WASPS add a
fourth when great play by DOM BURNS releases REECE MATTHEW through on
goal
, REECE makes no mistake with a great finish to increase THE WASPS lead.

THE WASPS replace REECE MATTHEW with LEWIS PATON at the start of the
third
period. THE WASPS continue to push forward and some good play by BEN
GARRETT nearly produces a fifth goal. DOM BURNS is having a very good
game
and is linking very well with LEWIS PATON and MATTHEW FRASER. LEWIS
PATON
is put through from a nice touch by DOM BURNS but is denied by the
DONSIDE
keeper who turns the ball out for a corner.
From the corner THE WASPS add to their tally when DOM BURNS is there to
knock the ball into the DONSIDE net to make the score 5 - 2 to THE
WASPS.
THE WASPS continue to push forward and score a sixth goal when a good
cross from LEWIS STEPHEN is knock into the net by LEWIS PATON for
another
well worked goal. DONSIDE to their credit are still working hard and are
rewarded with the goal of the game. Some nice passing leaves THE WASPS
defence stranded and the DONSIDE striker makes no mistake from the edge
of
the area to make the final score THE WASPS 6 DONSIDE 3.

very good performances from DOM BURNS, MATTHEW FRASER and in the latter
stages of the game BEN GARRETT. Good to see DOM BURNS and LEWIS PATON
both
scoring goals on a regular basis. A mention also for LEWIS ROSS who did
well in goals and also to DECLAN MCGUNNIGLE for coming on and showing a
very good attitude.
Well Played today and keep up the hard work.

ABERDEEN MIDDLEFIELD WASPS V
BANCHORY
at Aultons 24th FEB
Todays opponents are Banchory. The game kicks off at Aultons with
the wind
swirling around and dry conditions overhead.
Banchory kick off and straight away go on the offensive. THE WASPS
to there
credit hold firm and begin to get themselves into the game with
some nice
football
despite the conditions. Both teams are trying to play football and the
game
is going from end to end with chances at both ends. Near the end of the
half
Banchory
take the lead when THE WASPS defence fail to clear their lines, The
Banchory
striker runs through on goal after a slip by DECLAN MCGUNNIGLE and
coolly
slots the ball into THE WASPS net to give Banchory a 1 - 0 lead.
END OF FIRST PERIOD THE WASPS 0 BANCHORY 1
The second period kicks off and THE WASPS take the game to their
opponents.BEN GARRETT is now controlling the game with his strength and
ability to run and take people on.THE WASPS are unlucky on several
occassion
not to score but good goalkeeping and bad finishing by THE WASPS
means the
score stays at 1-0 to Banchory. The game is now being played in the
Banchory
half with DOM BURNS, MATTHEW FRASER, LEWIS STEPHEN and the impressive
BEN
GARRETT dominating proceedings. It is no surprise when THE WASPS
equalise
and what a goal it is. BEN GARRETT wins possession of the ball inside
THE
WASPS half , he plays a neat one-two with DOM BURNS and is clean through
on
the Banchory goal with the Banchory defenders chasing. BEN drives
towards
the Banchory goal and thunders home from 25 yards into the top corner to
give the Banchory goalkeeper no chance to make the score 1 - 1. THE
WASPS
with their tails up continue to push forward and on several occassions
are
unlucky not to take the lead.
END OF SECOND PERIOD THE WASPS 1 BANCHORY 1
The final period kicks off and THE WASPS introduce LEWIS ROSS and LEWIS
PATON , both teams are pushing forward with the game going from end to
end.
BEN GARRETT is having a terrific game and he looks the most likely
matchwinner for THE WASPS.With about 12mins remaining Banchory take the
lead
with another bad mistake by DECLAN MCGUNNIGLE , he allows the Banchory
attacker a clear route to goal and the Banchory attacker makes no
mistake to
give Banchory a 2-1 lead. DECLAN is then replaced and BEN GARRETT moves
back
into defence.Banchory are awarded a corner and THE WASPS RYAN
STEPHENSON
fails to clear, he clears the ball straight to a Banchory player only 5
yards from goal and he knocks the ball into the net to give Banchory a
3-1
lead in the dying minutes. Credit to THE WASPS who keep working till the
end
with DOM BURNS striking the crossbar. The final whistle goes and THE
WASPS
taste defeat for the first time in weeks.
FINAL SCORE THE WASPS 1 BANCHORY
3
GOALSCORER BEN GARRETT.
A very entertaining match served up by the kids from both teams.
THE WASPS worked very hard and played nice football at times against a
very
good Banchory team.
Defence must learn to clear our lines when the last man is under
pressure.
Another first class display from BEN GARRETT.
Great to see him have the confidence and ability to control the match in
the
manner that he did capping it off with a tremendous individual goal.
Well played lads but we must start believing in ourselves, we must start
believing that we can beat the top teams and if we do
I am pretty sure we
will soon.
Another very encouraging performance. Well played THE WASPS.
Keep working
hard.
Comment by Domain-Holdings, another fine report from
Paul Paton.

The Wasps match v
Stonehaven was cancelled this week so THE WASPS took the
opportunity to organise a match between themselves.
|
|
In a very entertaining match, The Wasps kids in both teams played
some nice
football. The final score was 5-2 with goals from BEN GARRETT (3) LEWIS
PATON (2) LEWIS STEPHEN (1) and a trailist.
It turned out to be a very good exercise, it gave 2 or 3 players who
have
not played recently a good 60 minutes workout. It was good to see the
kids
show as much commitment and effort as they did. It also gave us the
chance
to try 1 or 2 things out and also see the new players who have been
training
with us recently.
I would just like to thank the players for their efforts once again.
Well Played.

MIDDLEFIELD WASPS
V
COLONY BOYS
AT
AULTONS.
|
| 9ThMarch. |
|
Todays visitors are COLONY BOYS. The game kicks off in
perfect playing
conditions .THE WASPS take the game to their opponents right from the
start
with BEN GARRETT dominating in the middle of the park. THE WASPS are
playing
some nice football and it is no surprise when they take the lead with a
well
worked goal. LEWIS STEPHEN knocks the ball through to LEWIS PATON who
takes
it to the byeline before crossing for DOM BURNS to knock into the net to
give THE WASPS a early advantage.
THE WASPS are now pushing forward and are very unlucky on several
occassions.DOM BURNS hits the crossbar from a well worked corner kick,
LEWIS
PATON is denied by some good goalkeeping and BEN GARRETT is also denied
with the keeper pulling off a couple of very good saves from long range
efforts. THE WASPS are made to regret their missed opportunities when
COLONY
break forward from a WASPS freekick. THE WASPS are punished with a fast
breakaway leaving COLONY 2 against 1,
LEWIS ROSS does well in forcing the COLONY striker wide but his shot is
slid
in to the net by the other striker to give COLONY a
equaliser just before the end of the period.
END OF FIRST PERIOD THE WASPS 1 COLONY BOYS 1
The second period begins with THE WASPS determined to get back
infront.BEN
GARRETT is once again having a terrific match and is involved in
everything
THE WASPS are doing.THE WASPS are playing some nice football, only bad
finishing and some good goalkeeping preventing THE WASPS going in
front.Against the run of play COLONY go up the park and take the lead
with a
nice finish from the COLONY striker . THE WASPS to their credit keep
going
and are rewarded with an equalising goal when a well taken corner by
LEWIS
STEPHEN is met by BEN GARRETT on the volley , he fires it home to give
THE
WASPS a deserved equaliser. The game is now going from end to end and for
the first time in the match THE WASPS are on the backfoot.COLONY are
playing
some nice football and forcing THE WASPS to defend.THE WASPS defence
cracks
and COLONY take the lead when THE WASPS fail to clear their lines, THE
COLONY striker shoots towards goal and the ball squirms under HARRY
SMITH's
body and over the line to give COLONY a 3-2 lead.
END OF SECOND PERIOD THE WASPS 2 COLONY BOYS 3
THE WASPS start the 3rd period well, REECE MATTHEW, JASON DAVIE and BEN
GARRETT are pushing forward to support DOM BURNS at every opportunity
but
THE WASPS still cannot find a equalising goal despite all their
efforts.BRANDON HUNTER is keeping the COLONY strikers quiet and pushing
his
teammates forward.BEN GARRETT then runs the length of the pitch and is
denied again by THE COLONY goalkeeper.JASON DAVIE is then denied by the
COLONY keeper who is having a great game. With only 5 minutes remaining
THE
WASPS pressure finally pays off , DOM BURNS is in the right place to
knock
the ball home after a scramble in THE COLONY box to make the score 3-3.
END OF THIRD PERIOD THE WASPS 3 COLONY BOYS 3
GOALSCORERS DOM BURNS (2) BEN GARRETT.
A very good performance from THE WASPS today despite the result.A very
entertaining match served up today by both teams.
Lots of good football played and lots of chances created.Must tighten up
at
the back.
Lots of good performances today, LEWIS ROSS and BRANDON HUNTER did well
at
the back,
BEN GARRETT was full of running and unlucky not to score 3 or 4 goals
today.DOM BURNS worked hard and took his goals well.
Well played every one, but must learn to kill teams off when dominating
play
the same as we did today.

MIDDLEFIELD WASPS V PETERHEAD
AT
PETERHEAD
16TH
MARCH
THE WASPS travel to Peterhead for the third time this season.THE WASPS
are
forced into a few changes with LEWIS ROSS deputising in goals for the
ill
HARRY SMITH and MATTHEW FRASER replacing REECE MATTHEW.The game kicks
off in
terrible overhead conditions and with a strong wind blowing.
PETERHEAD kick off and take the game to THE WASPS. THE WASPS are
struggling
to get into the game. They are being closed down at every opportunity
by their hardworking opponents.THE WASPS are finding it very hard to
keep
hold of the ball and it is no surprise when PETERHEAD take the lead.A
long
ball is played forward by THE PETERHEAD defence and THE PETERHEAD
striker
nips in before THE WASPS defence to collect and finish to give PETERHEAD
a
1-0 lead.THE WASPS eventually put a move together at last , BEN GARRETT
picks the ball up and sends LEWIS PATON through on goal only to be
denied by
a good save from the PETERHEAD keeper.
END OF FIRST PERIOD PETERHEAD 1 THE WASPS 0.
THE WASPS bring on JASON DAVIE for LEWIS PATON at the start of the
second
period and change to 1 upfront with 4 in the middle of the park.
The change of formation has brought THE WASPS back into the game.BEN
GARRETT
and JASON DAVIE are now beginning to control the match, driving forward
at
every opportunity,DOM BURNS and LEWIS STEPHEN are also causing the
PETERHEAD
defence problems.THE WASPS are unlucky on a few occassions not to
equalise,
firstly through JASON DAVIE striking from close range only to be denied
by
the PETERHEAD keeper, and then a great save from the keeper again diving
low
to his left denies DOM BURNS.THE WASPS are then caught out on the break
when
PETERHEAD are first to a long ball upfield, THE PETERHEAD striker then
beats
THE WASPS last defender before knocking the ball past LEWIS ROSS to give
PETERHEAD a 2-0 advantage.THE WASPS continue to push forward but cannot
find
a way past the PETERHEAD goalkeeper.
END OF SECOND PERIOD PETERHEAD 2 THE WASPS 0
At the start of the third period THE WASPS bring on BRANDON HUNTER and
BRADLEY STRACHAN for DECLAN MCGUNNIGLE and MATTHEW FRASER. THE WASPS
continue to push forward trying to get themselves back into the
game.PETERHEAD are defending well and somehow manage to hold out THE
WASPS.
THE WASPS force corner after corner but still cannot find a way past THE
PETERHEAD keeper.BEN GARRETT and JASON DAVIE continue to drive THE WASPS
forward but still THE WASPS cannot find the final pass or strike when it
matters. In the last 5 minutes the tiring WASPS lose 2 more goals
against
the run of play to lose the game 4-0.
FINAL SCORE PETERHEAD 4 THE WASPS O
THE WASPS taste defeat for the first time today against a very strong,
physical PETERHEAD team.
In the first period THE WASPS put in their worst performance of the
season.THE WASPS allowed themselves to be bullied, pushed and knock out
of
their stride by PETERHEAD. After a few words at the interval, THE WASPS
then
go on and put in a very good performance in the second and third periods
despite the scoreline which i must say was very hard to take. THE WASPS
put
themselves about much more in the last 2 periods and played some nice
football at times despite the conditions.JASON DAVIE, BEN GARRETT,DOM
BURNS
and LEWIS STEPHEN all putting in a very good shift,THE WASPS made plenty
of
chances but today was one of those days, i think we could have played
all
day and not scored despite making plenty of chances.
WELL PLAYED lads, lots of commitment shown in last 2 periods, must learn
from todays game that sometimes you need more than football to win
matches.
Thank you Paul! for another fine report.
